We have been milking OAD for over nine years now and it is brilliant. I would just like to say though on the statement that ” bull calves are euthanized almost immediately in Queensland is a broad statement to make. We certainly don’t do this on our farm and there are plenty of others who don’t as well. We have at times reared our bull calve to 6 and 8 months, one year doing well out of them the next year losing money.

Cheers Michael.

I believe you have a very interesting story and would like to feature it on my website. I am passionate about healthy food and even more passionate about caring for the environment and animals. If we work with nature and not succumb to greed we can all have a healthy, happy, peaceful and dignified life here on earth. Humans and animals. There is no need to exploit anyone or anything for self-gain.

Please reply to my email address given if you are interested in your story being published on my website. Thank you.

how inspiring to read about your story. I would love to speak with you, as i have a similar small dairy farm in the Yarra Valley just 1 hour east of Melbourne. We have been supplying our local community with beautiful biodynamic, raw, jersey, a2, pasture fed, full cream milk for the past 8 years . We only have 20 acres and milk 12 purebred jerseys. All the milk was sold as bath milk from the dairy as we are positioned in a central area with a high density population in several small towns just within a few kilometres from the farm.
Unfortunately, since the beginning of this year the government ban on the sale of bath milk has ended our operation. This has been a devastating experience not just for my family but also for the 180 odd families that we were supplying this most health creating and nourishing milk to! And also all the other producers and consumers of raw milk in Victoria!
As a result of this situation, the Australian Raw Milk Movement has been formed, and now we are in the process of forming an Australia wide Raw Milk Producers Association , with the aim of creating standards and regulations that will ensure that safe raw milk for human consumption can be produced by small scale farms with healthy cows, soils and very conscientious farmers. We are reaching out to other producers to contact us and get involved if possible. The farming model you have created is truly inspirational so we would love to hear from you. The Producers meeting to set up the Association is planned for this Tuesday 3rd March. Interstate producers are welcome to attend via teleconference or Skype if possible. You can also reach me by phone on 0422 643 562.
Best wishes and kind regards,
Tyrone Brown
