I’m in the same boat. I have 3 Nigerian Dwarf goats for my own personal use. However, in peak production periods, I have far more milk than I can use and MANY people ask me if I will sell to them. Having to say no to these sales is just silly, while meanwhile I’m struggling to do SOMETHING with the milk before it gets too old. One can only eat so much cheese, ice cream, etc. At this point, I can legally go out and buy marijuana, but I can’t legally sell my goats milk on my own farm. I can’t think of any other food product that is to tightly regulated. ALL foods have risks of contamination – that’s why we hear of food recalls so often. VEGETABLES (leafy greens in particular) are the #1 source of contamination, yet I can sell those all I want. I can sell my chickens eggs on the farm – why is goat milk any different. This SOOO needs to change!
